VIC:John Leslie Coombes: Criminal history
Criminal history of triple murderer JOHN LESLIE COOMBES:
September 21, 1977 - Fined $200 for theft
December 2, 1985 - Sentenced to life in prison without parole for murdering Henry Desmond
Kells on November 17, 1984.
1988 - Escaped from prison
February 28, 1989 - One year jail term for escaping custody and theft
April 10, 1990 - Coombes given an 11-year minimum on his life sentence
April 22, 1998 - 15 years' jail with a 10 year minimum for murdering Michael Speirani
on February 26, 1984, nine months before killing Kells.
August 26, 2011 - Jailed for life without parole for murder of 27-year-old Raechel Betts.
